I love tennis. I love everything about it. From the anticipation of my weekend match to lacing up my sneakers. From the swoosh of opening up a new can of tennis balls to the thwack of the ball hitting the strings on the sweet spot of the racket. From slices to topspin, from an explosive overhead to a delicate drop shot. Is there anything better than watching a perfectly struck topspin lob sail over your opponent's head, leaving him completely befuddled, and continuing to relish your shot as it drops two feet inside the baseline for a clean winner? And then, after you've given it your all, left it all on the court, the sweat, guts, and glory (you pick the cliché), sitting back with your opponent, having a drink, and discussing the intricacies of the match. I just love it all! And then there are the professionals, the best in the world that our great sport has to offer. Inconceivably, watching two gladiators smacking around that little yellow fuzzy ball at the highest level brings me, at times, more enjoyment, if that's possible, than playing myself. These incredibly talented men and women, with their livelihoods on the line and all the pressure that goes along with it, playing their hearts out in front of, at times, millions of people, have produced some of the most riveting and unforgettable moments in all of sports. Some good moments, some great moments, and some…well…not so great moments. And although Forrest Gump might say, “Tennis is like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get,” one thing is for certain; when the question is asked, “What do you get when you put some of the world's greatest tennis players under enormous pressure with all of the competitive juices flowing in a battle on the court,” the answer is:
